The Shrine Cultural Center and Bookstore (Event Center)
Our National Director-Cynthia Nailah Nelson and staff, started The Buy Black Marketplace almost nine years ago in a strategic effort to empower the community's protest movement against injustice and brutality by circulating the Black dollar back into the community. By taking this important step, new businesses by local entrepreneurs saw a dramatic increase. The Shrine Cultural Center has been a pillar of the community (Atlanta, Detroit and Houston) for over fifty years...providing the much needed platform and space for conversation, forums and lectures designed to impact/inform the victims of racial slavery in America with solutions to empower our minds. In numerous ways, this movement creates the necessary enlightenment of our glorious past prior to slavery. We seek to move forward in the solidarity and community that has always existed among African people.
